Wow, lots to update on here...

Let's start with my trip to Atlanta. I don't remember a time when I have worked so hard in recent history. My co-worker calculated the hours we worked and it came to 9 days of work totalling 110 hours. Crazy! The show was a huge success. We really made a big impression on our clients and the sales team that I am a part of got a lot of kudos. It was nice to be part of such a great group of people. We did our share of partying as well. One night in particular stands out, as it involves getting pretty slammed with our bosses, smoking cigars and dancing along to a cool jazz trio. Note to self: do not mix white wine, red wine, tequila and martinis....unless getting really drunk is your goal. By the time Sunday rolled around I was toast. But, I had a flight to catch to get back to VA and meet my parents for the Broussard show in Annapolis. The show started at noon and I was at the airport at 10am. Yes, I know...this sounds crazy. But, I didn't plan on going to the show on that day. It was originally scheduled for later in the month but the date was moved.

Anyway...we got their earlier than expected and had to wait for the doors to open. Once we got in I realized that our seats were about 5 feet from the soundboard, so the first person I saw was Arik. We said our hellos and I introduced him to my parents. He was sure to let me know that he had already had 3 jagerbombs, and it was only noon. I knew then that this was going to be a fun afternoon! Joe came out onto the the stage and I went over to say hi. Arik had told me that eventhough SOW wasn't on the bill he was letting Joe and Dave play a few songs before Marc's set. I was super excited about that since my dad is a huge classic rock guy and I really wanted him to hear Joe play. Joe came over and met the parents and we chatted for a few minutes and then he headed back to get ready. When Joe and Dave came out to play Joe joked with the audience saying "Marc decided to cancel and we will be your entertainment for the afternoon". Luckily the audience knew he was joking. Marc ran onstage at some point during their set and made some strange whooping noise, which of course cracked up the whole room. The "Marc and Joe Comedy Hour" had officially begun. Joe and Dave played about 5 songs and won over the crowd, as usual. My dad was definitely impressed!

When Marc came out he only had Joe with him. He informed us that due to the scheduling of a noon show at the same time as The Saints football game, the rest of the band would not be joining them. He said that they only got out of playing by promising to do 2 weeks worth of Marc and Joe's laundry. HAHA! So, Marc let us all know that he had never played music this early and actually rarely ever saw daylight, so we were in for an interesting show. He pulled out his iPod and tuned up Bill Withers "Lovely Day" and proceeded to lip synch and dance along to it. Everyone in the audience was going nuts at this point and it just got better from there. Marc and Joe didn't have a setlist, so they took suggestions from the audience for most of the show. We were treated to Marc playing a few more songs in his iPod from the new album, Joe singing the first verse of "You Can Leave Your Hat On" and making all the girls swoon, Marc's enlightening discussion on the state of the music industry, more dancing to random songs on his iPod, and jagerbombs for every score by The Saints. Marc authored a new quote for my t-shirt company after one score, "Jagerbombs! Now! God-Doggit!". Classic. After about 2 hours the guys had to wrap it up, much to the chagrin of everyone. No one, including Marc and Joe, wanted the show to be over. We were all having entirely too much fun. Right after the show Arik came over and asked if we wanted to go talk to Marc. That was so sweet of him. We went backstage for a few minutes and I introduced Marc to my parents. Everyone was buzzing over how much fun the show was. I told Marc about his quote making the list and he got a kick out of that. After a bit we said our good-byes and we left them so we could grab lunch in the restaurant.

That show is definitely in my Top 5 shows of all time. I wish the whole thing was videotaped for repeated viewings, haha!

That's all for now. HAPPY THANKGSGIVING to everyone! Hope you all are doing well. I will try to catch up on everyone's lives soon!
